The newest version of rhinogold 4.0, an advanced gold miner for medieval minecraft is now available for download. With the new features in this latest version, you can dig more than twice as quickly, and get more gold ore per block dug. It's still not recommended to play on servers with other players mining near you - it's best to just let them think their game is buggy! This is the fifth release of this software, following last year's beta release that nobody liked. The codebase has over two hundred thousand lines of mostly cleaned, tested and commented Java. This makes this particular release ten times as much as the previous one. The new version is available for download from http://www.rhinogold4.com or directly from https://sourceforge.net/projects/rhinogold/files/latest/download, and also from anonymous FTP at ftp://ftp.rhinogold4.com. The sourceforge mirror will only be updated when I feel like changing that URL (which has been stable since late 2007). According to comments received, this is a major new release. A list of the changes follows: Changes in this version: Changes in this version: Changes in this version: Changes in this version: Changes in this version: In several languages, but not all! See below for details. In Java, the software converts from "p" to "per" and from "m3" or "m*3" to "m/3". In some other languages, there is no such conversion - these values will then simply be truncated. In C++, some numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number, and some truncated to the next lower integer. In Solidity, some values are rounded to the nearest integer. In REXX, a number of constants have been changed from a multiplicative factor appropriate for a particular computer system to a positive number representing 2048 == 1000000000019971640. In addition to the languages listed above there are some special terminology used by rhinogold 4 from time to time: "Fossil", "Cavity", "Block", "Pillar", "Ore" and "Block" all mean exactly what they seem to mean - metal ore in stone form. "Ore" refers to metal ore or ores, "Block" refers to the block that you are mining. Some internet sites claim that these values are not accurate enough to use in spreadsheets. Here is the correspondence table: Changes in this version: The previous version of Rhinogold 4 was beta software released here at sourceforge, with somewhat varied results. The official stable release was made here at this site, with no significant changes having been made since April 2009. The latest stable version is Rhinogold 4 v4.0a1, released on 2018-12-21 after six years of non-stop development following its initial release in December 2007. eccc085e13
